While Lion's Mane is generally well-tolerated, we always recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement, especially if you're taking medications or have underlying health conditions.

Our dual-extraction method, which includes alcohol, makes sure we capture both water-soluble and alcohol-soluble compounds from the mushroom. This provides you with the full spectrum of beneficial ingredients, maximising the potential benefits of the supplement.

Lion’s Mane supplements are generally safe to take, with few known side effects.

Lion’s Mane may have blood thinning effects. If you’re on blood-thinning medication or have concerns about this, speak with your doctor before taking this supplement.

There is limited research about the safety of Lion’s Mane during pregnancy, and you should avoid taking these supplements when pregnant or breastfeeding.

We also do not recommend this product for children under 5 years.

Our experience in mushroom extraction has led us to conclude that the best way to gain the complete benefits of mushroom supplements is through our dual-extraction method. We haven’t observed any additional benefits in encapsulation of the mushroom extract.

Capsules and tablets also require additional ingredients to be taken in by the body. Our preference has always been to deliver the highest level of beneficial mushroom extract from 100% fruit body, and with the lowest level of alcohol to act as a carrier and for preservation.

Lion’s Mane makes a great addition to your morning coffee. The Lion’s Mane Mushroom Liquid with an alcohol base has a mild savoury taste that shouldn’t change the taste of your coffee.

Lion’s Mane mushrooms are native to the forests of Asia, Europe and North America. In nature, they’re commonly found growing on rotting hardwood trees and logs in thick forests.

The Lion’s Mane mushrooms we use in our premium liquids are grown in two places – on our farm in Denmark, WA and in organically certified, dedicated mushroom facilities in China.

It’s important to remember that China is the birthplace of medicinal mushrooms, having been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. China is still the largest grower of mushrooms in the world, growing some of the most potent medicinal mushrooms in the world.

Our focus has always been on growing – and sourcing – the highest quality mushrooms for our products, whether from Australia or elsewhere.

There is not enough evidence that inclusion of mycelium in a functional mushroom product is beneficial. Mycelium is grown on grain and it’s virtually impossible to separate the mycelium from the grain. This dilutes the effectiveness of the final product. At Touchwood Mushrooms we’re about results and good health outcomes, which is why we only use the whole fruit body.

We do not recommend freeze dried mushrooms as a base for liquid or powdered supplement products. With freeze drying, you will not get access to all the vital compounds available in a dual-extracted product. Our experience is that freeze dried products are a weaker compound to a fully extracted processed mushroom.
